Yeah yellow would probably have been clearer. :) Maybe a mix of colors though? Explosions are usually not just the one. A few shades of yellow orange and red?

With the red color it looks a bit like he's getting injured when he lands... which isn't the case isn't it? Otherwise not a bad start! Keep building that skill!!!

someone told me to put an explotion when he lands (maybe yellow would have been better)
